One of Rockdale Rotary Club’s biggest and most meaningful service projects each year is awarding academic and vocational scholarships to high school seniors in southern Milam County. Applicants are selected based on a combination of factors, including academic, extracurricular, and community service accomplishments.
This year, we were proud to award scholarships to the following students:
- Julie Bartsch, Rockdale High School
- Ethan Gordan, Milano High School
- Clarissa Herrera, Rockdale High School
- Ryan Luckey, Rockdale High School
- Morgan Meadors, Thorndale High School
- Makayla Mitchell, Rockdale High School
In addition to these scholarships, each year we select one student from among all the applicants who best exemplifies Rockdale Rotary’s mission. In recognition of her outstanding community service work while also achieving academic and extracurricular accomplishments, we awarded Natalie Garcia, of Thorndale High School, with the 2023 Service Above Self Community Service Award.
